It´s out of the way location, resulting in peace and quiet, which I needed after a long journey from the South.
The entrance door to the lobby, is over 100 years old, and Jenny was charming and helpful in printing out my "passenger locator form " required by the UK government rules for travellers entering the UK to be completed 48 hours before arrival at the port of arrival. b ed was really comfortable, and overall a suitable overnight stop on the way to Santander.

a bit disappointed
Posted 28 Jul 2019 on Hotelswe found the hotel a little run down, things like light bulbs missing,, the tap on the shower/bath fell off!! but we were able to put it back. the outside needs a bit of attention, there were benches and metal chairs in the garden but needed cleaning . it all seems to need a bit of work done to bring it back up to scratch. having said that the people were nice, a light breakfast which i thought was included, but wasn´t. no bar. no restaurant. you have to go into Calamocha a few miles away where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. for a one night stay it was ok

Don’t think of it as a hotel more as an experience, this is a beautiful place to stay.

Hotel closed on arrival!
Posted 2 Dec 2015Barely legible note on door with choice of 2 numbers to ring no reply to either. Tried again 5 minutes later and call was answered. She said wait 5 minutes. I waited 10 and the door was unlocked. I should add that this hotel is in a hamlet miles from anywhere. I was asked several times if I had a reservation and I showed her my print out of Expedia booking. She grabbed it did some sums and asked me for 67€. This I will question in due course. (Breakfast was 6€ and a disgrace. ). All the while the woman's mother was sitting down watching. Well into her 70s or early 80s. I was told that she didn't speak Spanish .... Her daughter then asked for the money and disappeared!!!! No restaurant, nowhere to get a bottle of water even ...
I could expound this review and have photos of proof.
Makes Fawlty Towers look like a welcoming ritz.
The daughter went off never to be seen or heard of again!!!
All in all one of the most strange experiences I have ever had!!
Disgraceful and I will be writing a very scathing review.

Don't go out of season.
Posted 2 Nov 2015 on HotelsWe arrived in the dark at 6pm and the place was in darkness. It is in a very remote area and up a very long country lane. Because it was dark we could not really judge where we were. Rang the front door bell, no reply. We were concerned because we were the only car in the car park. Another car pulled up and they had a different number from us to ring, they rang it and after 10 minutes a light went on and a lady appeared at the door. Once inside we could see what a beautiful building it was. Our room was large and airy. The Hotel restaurant was shut for the winter so we walked into Navarette which was in darkness and no one in sight. So we drove to the next place which also seemed to be closed. In the morning however we went out and could see how beautiful the building was and how nice it would have been in season with everything open and seating outside. My advice would be, go in the summer but avoid October to March.
