We had a good time at the Zafiro Cala Mesquida hotel with the family. Everything is available for kids to have fun and enjoy their meals. The pools and proximity to the beach was great! The rooms were large and comfortable. The only downside is that we didn't feel as if we were in Spain. I would have loved a little bit more of the Spanish culture and language. Also the restaurant closes at 9pm which we felt was a little bit early.

Fantastic hotel - about as relaxing as it gets

Great family holiday
Posted 27 Jul 2021 on HotelsExcellent family holiday, cleaning, bar and restaurant staff very friendly and polite especially under challenging circumstances. Hotel complex was extremely clean throughout our stay and the food and drinks were very good.
The resort is small and friendly with only three hotels that we found, very short walk to the beach, which was really nice
A spar shop, pharmacy and doctors in resort with an Italian restaurant
Only negative we found is that there was no food available after the restaurant closed in the evening, not even for snacks

Regarding the snacks after the closing of the Restaurant, I would like to inform you that you have the option of cold sandwiches, fruits, chips, etc... in our Cafeteria Babalu until 12pm. This was before Covid accesible to the guests, now they need to ask to our staff as they are in a fridge not accesible (but visible) to our guests.

Pleasant family holiday

Internet and WiFi very intermittent and had to re log in every time

We stayed here for a week with a 5 and 7 year old and it was perfect.
We paid for a swim up room which was definitely worth it. All swim up rooms have a garden with hammock and sun beds and a gate directly onto a shared pool. The swim up rooms also have the most gorgeous sea view.
Our room was very spacious with everything you needed. We were in Block 8 which led out onto an adult only pool (which isn’t adult only at all as all people including children from swim up rooms could use it).
The food at the main buffet was ok for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we weren’t told you could eat at the pool bar or by the stage and choose something from the menu for lunch every day which is included in the all inclusive as well. We found that out by chance.
The location is about an hour and a half drive from the airport direct. My advice would be to get a taxi or hire a car as transfers which include other hotels can take 2 1/2 hours!
The kids club ran 1 hour sessions throughout the day which your children could attend for different activities.
All in all, an excellent holiday and we will definitely use Zafiro again! Thank you

I liked this place overall and would recommend it (great if you have kids), but there were a few things that annoyed me. One, the pool hours were 10-6. Say what?! So the pool isn’t open for a morning swim before breakfast or an evening swim after dinner before bed. It’s summer! I understand if you want to close a pool or two, but at least have one option open. I have traveled all over the world and never encountered that before. The beach, however, was open all hours for a swim and very close, but certainly not ideal when you’ve paid for a resort. Anyway, I also didn’t like that there weren’t enough chairs around the pool deck. If you didn’t get your towel on one first thing after breakfast (and you better be early to breakfast) then they were taken the whole day. People would be gone for hours from their chairs but leave all their stuff on them so no one else could use them. Very frustrating.
The place was very clean, had a lot of activities like ping-pong and mini golf and a trampoline and we always had great service in our room and at meals. The food was the same quality you would get on a nice cruise. Some things were fantastic, some were just good or ok. All was fresh. Enjoyed the wine included at dinner.
The drinks at the bar were not that great, especially for the price. Go down to the bar at the beach if you want some really good drinks. Those guys know what they’re doing.
All in all, we enjoyed this resort, including the daily activities, and would recommend it

Very clean tidy, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, sunbeds in the 18+ swim up room area were so comfy and the beach was stunning.. what’s not to like.
