"We loved the staff at Wilde so friendly and outgoing. We were less enamored with our rooms. Some things in both rooms we had didn’t function properly (blinds, lights, etc). Room was either freezing ir we had the heat off or felt like a furnace or we had it on. We also found that the “apartment” part of the room was not well utilized by us. "We had an amazing stay at The Caledonian! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. In fact, before we arrived I had an email asking if we required anything specific for our stay or recommendations for places to visit or restaurants. We were delighted when our room was upgraded as we were visiting for a very special birthday celebration. The suite we stayed in was fantastic! Everything was clean, in excellent condition and comfortable. We went for a family swim in the pool and really enjoyed the experience. The staff in the spa were helpful and welcoming, and the pool area felt clean and safe. The breakfast experience was wonderful; the food was fresh and you could tell it was of the finest quality. The waiting staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, especially with a slightly fussy young child who changed her mind a few times! The breakfast food selection was fantastic and everything was delicious. We had the best stay and it really made for a memorable birthday treat, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again, the next time we visit Edinburgh!"
