The hostess was nice but due to having no windows it was extremely hot in the room at night. Also the owner has dogs that like to bark when anyone drove by no matter the hour. Luckily the hostess worked with us and let us cancel our reservation to find a more quiet place that had windows and ac.

Posted 6 Aug 2023 on HotelsIt was a great stay. I think initially after a day of travel we were jarred by the lack of ac but honestly you adjust easily. The host was very friendly and helpful. A very calm relaxing stay, nice place to go to if you truly want to detach from regular life.

It was quiet and comfortable. The charm of the room made the stay very relaxing. We didn’t miss not having a television. The internet was slow so don’t expect to get any work done if you planned on working instead of enjoying the nearby beach.

We are very pleased that you've enjoyed your stay at Kenaki Lodge.For the internet, we have fiber optic, but only 10 megas, which is almost a luxury in the jungle, with a private provider because, for the moment, national companies do not provide fiber optic everywhere in Costa Rica. And for 10 megas, it costs 85.00 USD per month. Warm regards.

Well this is my first time on that side of Costa Rica and my overall opinion of the property was OK the hot water worked and neither one of our rooms and nobody seem to care to fix it the breakfast was a little bit pricey most places include a free breakfast The beach was black sand not a very pretty beach no stores are close by and the walk to town is a good one I probably cannot stay there again due to the fact that it was too far from anywhere to eat but for the price it wasn’t bad the owner was a friendly lady

Buenos dias Bradley, muchas gracias por su comentario que nos ayuda a mejorar siempre. Lo siento mucho por el agua caliente, el calentador de agua se daño durante su estadia y no se podia reparar. No hemos encontrado un calentador a comprar en la zona asi que tuvimos que hacerlo venir de San Jose y toma varios dias. Nustros precios no incluyen desayunos porque nuestras 4 habitaciones se benefician de una cocina compartida y a veces nuestros huespedes prefieren hacer su propio desayuno. Sin embargo, cabe recalcar que nuestro desayuno incluye cafe, te o chocolate, un plato de frutas por persona, pan con mantequilla y mermelada, huevos y gallo pinto. Es muy completo y amplio y el precio es de 11.30 USD por persona.Playa Grande es una playa salvaje, sin construcciones, solo arena y cocos. Aqui, desarollamos desde 2015 un proyecto de proteccion y conservacion de tortugas baulas que vienen a desobar cada año entre marzo y septiembre.El centro de Cahuita esta a 3.5 kms, el primer restaurante y la primera pulperia a 1.5 kms. El lugar es para venir a descansar, en medio de la jungla con la playa en frente.

Expensive not worth
Posted 27 Jan 2022 on HotelsThe breakfas was included but never get the breakfast, because the owners are not there to make the breakfast they are walking on the beach and don't care about serving the breakfast, second the ceiling fan in the room are VERY VERY dirty see photos, it is not good for the price for this place the price is not more than $60 max...I want add photos of the ceiling fan here but it not work ...
But it is REALLY VERY DIRTY
Never again

Buenas tardes, muchas gracias por su comentario que nos ayuda a mejorar nuestros servicios. Desde enero 2022, los desayunos ya no estan incluidos en el precio de las habitaciones. Nuestras 4 habitaciones ahora se benefician de una cocina compartida con comedor, entonces los desayunos estan opcionales y estan servidos entre 7.30 am y 9.00 am. Hemos tambien bajado nuestros precios de estancia. Los huespedes nos avisan el dia anterior si van a querer un desayuno para que sepamos cuantos tendremos que preparar. Despues de las 9.00 am, seguimos con la limpieza de las habitaciones y las tareas administrativas. Nos gustaria disfrutar de la playa pero no hay tiempo para esto. Si vamos a la playa es sobre todo para limpiar el ranchito del hotel que a veces encontramos con basura... Los ventiladores de techo de las habitaciones son de metal y como estamos frente al mar se oxidan. Los pintamos cada 6 meses pero siempre la corosion vuelve, nos disculpamos si fuera el caso.

Stayed 1 Night Walked away
Posted 17 Jan 2021 on HomeAwayThis place was the worst. The bed was so bad my back aches the next day, you can literally see the springs through the thread bare linens. The blankets were so used, I wouldn’t expect my dog to sleep on them. We came back one afternoon to termite waste on our bed, it was more than we could take. We happily walked away from the entire weeks pre-payment with no regrets. We use VRBO all the time, and this was without a doubt the worst place we have ever stayed at.

La cabaña es muy amplia y cómoda, rodeada de naturaleza. Los dueños son muy amables. La zona en general es muy caliente y húmeda por lo que se requiere de un buen ventilador (aire acondicionado casi no manejan en la zona), desafortunadamente el de nuestra habitación no funcionaba y al ser un lugar tan alejado de la capital no pudieron mandarlo a arreglar.
