Secret hideaway stay
Posted 23 Mar 2024 on HotelsThis is a lovely place to stay. We were well looked after, my gluten free dietary needs were catered for and the staff were very accommodating.
The house is old so we expected that the rooms might be ‘quirky’ but we had a dangerous fault with our shower that could have resulted in serious scalding incident. We have informed the managers so they can deal with it.
Dinner was 5* as you’d expect in a place with a chef of this calibre - wine and port also excellent. Pricey, but not excessive.
Overall a lovely quiet and peaceful place to stay but close to local attractions and amenities if you want to travel to them .

This is an elegant country house with a story. It was once home to Princess Margaret and Lord Snowden, whose family owned it. The house is wonderfully furnished and the dining experience worth reservations for dinner. Breakfast options plentiful and delicious. Very friendly place and great location to key sights in the area.

Low internet speed & pricy meals.

Treat yourself to this Country side bit of heaven
Posted 12 Sep 2022 on HotelsThis is a beautiful, historic country home that is a now a hotel with a gourmet (Country famous chef) restuarant on site. The grounds are large and beautiful. There are historic documents, pictures and furniture all throughout the property. Beautiful sitting room / bar. Staff helpful and friendly. Would love to go back.
