Bygdøy is a peninsula in the western part of Oslo with plenty of things for visitors to enjoy. The magnificent hiking trails has made Bygdøy a popular escape destination ever since the 1800s. The beach gets busy when the weather is good so make sure you arrive early to pick the best spot. Be aware that several places on Bygdøy are protected, especially with two nature reserves in the area.
Gardermoen is the closest airport from here, you can easily travel to Oslo by public transport. There are regular buses from Oslo to Bygdøy as well as a ferry. Hire a car if you want to travel around and explore the area at your own pace.
