"Lets face it. Butwal is not a tourist destination or major foreign investment site. The hotel options are limited. At Darcy's you get a clean room, professional service, safe meals and privacy. Nothing is outstanding but the staff is friendly and everything is pleasant. The location means it is convenient but noisy. During our stay there was a communication issue between Darcy's and Orbitz. However, I was never inconvenienced and to my knowledge, the issue was worked out. Would recommend to...

"this is a place suited for people who does not require hot water shower in winter. turn on the tap for almost an hour. when reception is informed, they’ll tell u electrician is sleeping. take a shower tomorrow morning but hot water never come. i’ll never come back even if it is free, pay to get tortured."

"Yes, this is a budget hotel like many I have stayed in Nepal but this hotel was a complete disappointment. The two positive things were that I always had hot water to take a nice shower and that it is located 2 minutes walk from where the bus stops, so was convenient to take my luggage. The negatives and why I would not recommend staying here: Place run down, wall had humidity. "The location and overall appearance of the hotel is good. However, the room we stayed (first room on second floor) had a couple of dozen bugs in the room. We had to turn the lights in the room off and left only the bathroom lights on during the night hoping to attract bug away from us. We also had to use towels to block the bottom of our door to prevent more bugs from coming in from the hallway. Next morning we found a lot of dead bugs right outside of our room which was a horrible scene....

Good Hotel and Polite Staff

"Stayed in Room 107 for 2 nights. The hotel is in a very good condition with marble and tiles everywhere. My room was on the first floor. No lift though. The room had a strong smell of Naphthalene. At least there were no insects. Everything looked clean, although the floor was a bit dusty. I picked up some of it while walking barefoot and ended up using the slippers provided. The bathroom had an open shower, toilet and basin. The room was large enough without everything getting in the way. Hot water was available via a hot water boiler. The bathroom was clean enough, although the silicone sealant needed a refresh. The room had a double and a single bed. The blanket and sheets were clean, although there was a slight damp smell. The mattress was medium firm and with the thick blankets, it was quite comfortable sleeping even in the cooler Feb/March weather. Breakfast was part of the package and had to be ordered, then brought to the room. The restaurant can also cook dinner. Location wise, the hotel is about 15 minutes to the airport by car. The main bus stand is 2 minutes walk away. The immediate area is quiet. The nearest restaurant is about 5 minutes walk, or use the in-house restaurant."
