Too hot, poor room design
Posted 6 Jul 2024 on HotelsThe room was boiling with no aircon and tiny windows, miles away from reception and had a sky light on the ceiling above the bed with no curtain / blind. It must have been 30c and light at 5am.

Lovely hotel. Old fashioned feel and really nice decor. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Only reframe is not spending more time in it to enjoy it. The area is very picturesque so if you’re visiting definitely check this out as it has a really lovely classy feel.

Comfortable stay.
Posted 1 Nov 2022 on HotelsBooked in here after Fence Lodge hotel cancelled our booking with 48 hours to go.
Also booked dinner at Lawrence but on arrival told restaurant inoperable.! Hotel car parking impractical for any car other than a mini but manager very kindly moved his car in order to accommodate mine.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us.We sincerely apologise, but we had to close our restaurant on Sunday. Parking is a little tight as we are in a residential area, but there is a free car park just over the road, and plenty of free on street parking close by.We hope that we we will see you at The Lawrence again soon.

What no food?
Posted 16 Sep 2022 on HotelsThere was no restaurant on the evening and apparently they do not do food on Wednesday (I guess no guests need fed on Wednesdays?)which it does not say on Hotels.com booking site. I am not limited to where I stay and prefer to book hotels with the basics of hot food and adequate parking after a hard day.
