Location great but none of staff spoke English. Mattress torn and stained. Much dust under bed.

Frederick, we been talking a lot in English with you about many stories you have and questions about bathroom, ac etc. On the other hand you never let us get in to clean .We preferred to know your problems before you leave , in order to solved them , now is too late Please reconsider your reviews.I know you will be fear if you really think .All the comments we shared with the staff and it will be nice if you can consider their efforts Thank you in advance

I was attending the IPSA World Congress held at the Catholic University of Argentina. Hotel Chipre is about a 15 minute walk from campus as well as other points of interest such as the Plaza de Mayo, the Cathedral, and Casa Rosada. It is also right by plenty of markets for food and toiletries. The famous, historical Bar El Federal is down the block of the hotel for a nice night out. Other bars, restaurants, and cafe's are close as well. Mercado San Telmo is also a nice place to go shopping. Overall excellent location and though my Spanish is not the best, the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Neglected and dodgy

They try to take advantage of the tourists. A waste of time and money. You don’t get what you’re paying for.

Very unsatisfied with my stay

Posted 2 May 2018 on Hotels
When I booked the room, I emailed the staff asking for a late check-in, once my flight would arrive by midnight, and I would get to the hotel by 2 am. They emailed me back and we agreed that someone would wait for us (my gf and I). When we got there, I rang the bell 3 times or so to get an angry guy telling us that they were closed and I couldn't ring the bell because there were people sleeping. I asked him if he could speak in English and he said "no". I tried to explain him that we had a room booked, but he wouldn't listen to me; He just closed the door in our faces, turned his back and left. Luckily for us, there is a Police Station in front of the hotel and there was a kind police officer watching everything. We spoke to her and she intervened and helped us talk to the guy. After he called someone (the manager, I guess), he told us that we were right and that he was sorry for the inconvenience, and placed us on a room (which had no jacks, so we couldn't charge our phones). By the time we woke up, I asked about the breakfast to discover that it was only a croissant and a "café au lait". I am definitely unsatisfied with the overall quality of the services and amenities provided. The room and the bathroom were not good and they looked kind of dirty. Also, we were treated very badly, as if we had randomly choose there to stay. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the place nor the breakfast, but I did take a picture of the "Closed" sign he put at the door.

Dear Thales, it is true that you have a problem 2:00 am doing the check-in , and we apologise for that, it was our fault not to remind the night person to receive you. But it is not true you been in a dirty, ugly, tiny room and the bathrooms were dirty. Please do not put your unsatisfaction in first place and kept talking unnicely to the hotel. The charging jack was behind your bed. The breakfast was a courtesy because it was not included in what you bought. Again please tell the true. For your knowledge the person involve in your check in is not gonna be longer working with us. Best regards and again we apologize for your check in Administration.

hotel close to San Telmo

Posted 7 Nov 2017
Pros: Location near San Telmo
Cons: Internet and breakfast
Location: Restaurants and Feria San Telmo
I had two bad experiences: at check in I was forced by the person who received me to go and take a fotocopy of my passport in order to avoid local taxes which is by law. I was tired and wanted to rest but I had to go right away for this document. My recommendation would be to ask visitors prior to their arrival to arrive with this documents. The day I was leaving the internet didnt work at all and I needed to ask for a Uber but as Internet didnt work I suffered a lot and there was no one to help me from the hotel. This means was a bad experience for me staying at this hotel as I almost lose my international flight

It was exactly what we wanted to start off our trip in Buenos Aires. The staff were friendly and spoke English. It's easy to walk to some of the recommended sites

Cheap and comfy

Posted 19 Oct 2015 on Hotels
Room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. I had been told by taxis drivers the area was quite safe but further down the street you needed to be vigilant. Situated right in front of a police station. Free wifi but not very good in the end/corner rooms. On suite shower was more like a wet room as shower was not separate it had the nozzle coming from the walk almost over the toilet.
