Great stay , nice room especially the bed and shower. Nice bar area and enjoyed the breakfast. Bus stop opposite to take you into the city of Brighton, cab back from the city centre only £12.50 so hotel in great location.

Downs hotel
Lovely views, great service, room classy and very clean. Good breakfast also. Useful location for visit to Brighton and Hove - bus stop outside takes about 30 mins, costs £2. Would most definitely stay again.

An absolutely fabulous stay. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Cleanliness was perfect in both room and bathroom. The bathroom itself was stylish with a lovely shower. Breakfast was ample and very very tasty. Good quality TV, and room service was available with meals from the bar I noticed (I did not need this service). Even though on a main road the noise was minimal so assume there was good double glazing. There was some noise with music from the downstairs bar but this finished at a reasonable hour. For the price the Downs Hotel in my eyes is a little gem.

The Good: Rooms are impeccably clean, stylish, roomy and comfortable Very comfy bed with beautiful bed linen High quality shampoo and shower gel provided Nespresso machine in the room Onsite parking It’s on a busy junction but soundproofing is excellent Great location for walking on South Downs. Regular buses go to Brighton centre (15 minute journey) or 1 hour walk Breakfast included is decent and cooked to order. Restaurant on site for evening meal. Fish and Chip shop close by is an excellent option too. Friendly staff. The Bad: The in-room internet service provider blocks all ‘adult’ websites - even for adults! The milk provided with the tea-making equipment in the room is full-fat (dairy). This is very strange in 2024 and in Brighton in particular. A better option would be for dairy milk to be semi-skimmed and there also to be oat milk sachets

A must stay in Brighton
Beautiful room with lots of space. Great for a family. We plan to stay here again. The breakfast was also amazing! Oh and the location was only a 5minute drive from the marina which has free parking.

What a great hotel/ pub. Usually stay on the sea front but this was a last minute need to go to Brighton and the prices were very expensive. Found the Downs Hotel, on arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful, was shown to my room which was upgraded from a single to a double without and charge. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and a lovely modern bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities were great with coffee machine even. The room was nice and warm and had obviously been cleaned to perfection by Sarah who had left me a personalised card. Breakfast was included, i had a full english cooked to perfection with two of everyting! A very enjoyable stay and will definately be staying there again on my next trip in a month or so.

A nice, welcoming pub. Room and en suite very good with comfortable bed. Unable to have breakfast as it was not available till 7.30 and we were leaving at that time for the ferry. Bar and food were fine, no problem. Unfortunately, the pub is on a very busy road junction, and this made it noisy. Also, as our room was at the front and overlooked the outside seating area, it was also noisy.

What a fabulous place to stay in , we checked in and was upgraded for free , we stayed for two nights and honestly this is the best cleanest ,friendly and welcoming place , the staff couldn’t be more helpful , I certainly recommend you to stay here could have stayed longer we enjoyed every minute . Fantastic stay at the downs hotel. Came here for trip to Brighton was so convenient with bus stop outside. Such a lovely warm welcome from staff and really nice pub and rooms. Extremely cosy and clean. Had dinner and breakfast at hotel we didn’t want to leave! We will be back. One of the best family rooms we have stayed in.

Excellent hotel just outside of Brighton
Lovely hotel 20 mins bus ride outside of Brighton. Amazing breakfast included. All of the staff were really friendly. We were a family of four and the room was big enough for us all. Would definitely recommend and if we return to Brighton we will stay here again.
