Staff were excellent, hotel was decent. Some very pronounced bits of wear in places (bottom of the bathroom door was rotten). TV was slightly small for a room of its size. Issues with inconsistent amounts of loo roll provided! Excellent location and a decent option if you want to stay in the heart of Brighton.

We last stayed here at Christmas in 2023 & really enjoyed our stay. We were visiting family again between Christmas and New Year this weekend & decided to rebook based on our experience last year. However we felt let down on this occasion. We didn’t arrive to check in until 7pm to be told our room hadn’t been ‘inspected’ and would not be ready for check in for the next 5 minutes. We were ok with this as we needed some dinner after a long journey so we went to Raffelos nearby (would recommend) and then returned at 8pm. We were then told the room would not be ready for another 20/30 minutes as it was being cleaned! By now we were tired & frustrated at being told different reasons for the delay. The manager came & spoke with us and apologised, blaming lack of staff. He assured us the room would be ready asap. The reception staff advised us our car parking would be complimentary & we could have a late check out of 12.30pm, this cushioned the blow! We then eventually got to our room (352) which looked out over the town hall. The room is really tired, & wasn’t particularly clean. The worst part of the room was the beds, which we remembered being great during our last stay. They creaked every time you moved & also when each person moved the whole bed and mattress moved also. All three of us slept poorly due to this. Unsure what the issue was to be honest but both “king size beds” were the same. Some positives…the shower was great as was breakfast, Oliver is lovely! We won’t return.

We usually stay in the same chain but by the station but chose this hotel for a change. The room we were initially checked in to was very tired, stains on the carpet and threadbare, bath smashed in on the side, black mold on the bathroom. We asked to change room and the staff were more than accomodating and upgraded our room to a sea view. However even the exec rooms, whilst better are still quite tired, nothing outstanding. It was noted that as an expedia vip member this hotel are meant to upgrade automatically if they have the available rooms, clearly they don't or we should have been given the exec room at check in. Breakfast was good. The area around the hotel, is pretty grotty. Rooms were clean but really need some maintenance. Fine for 1 night but not in a hurry to return.

Excellent idea to stay here for a night in Brighton. Right on the seaside in a convenient location. A 10 minute walk to the Royal Theatre and a 5 minute walk to The Lanes with all of its dining and drinking options. A lovely breakfast too. Parking is 29 pounds extra per day but is located right under the hotel. The staff were lovely too. My son and I enjoyed ourselves here.
