Hotel very run down and dated decor. Had to phone hotel to get somebody to come to the reception to check in.
I thought we had already paid on booking through the app only to be told that we had to pay at receptionist again.
Overall experience ok as it was just a place to sleep one night, wouldn’t want to stay any longer.

Our hotel reception is not manned 24-7, there is always a duty manager available on the phone number posted on the main door and on the desk should you need assistance. We do not take payment prior to arrival to avoid fraudulent activity on guest's cards. When booking you will have received an email telling you that payment is due on arrival. We had a charity fun day on yesterday, hence why there wasn't a large staff presence at reception.

We booked this hotel last minute and it did not disappoint. Lovely hotel with great character and amazingly helpful staff

Room was larger than most chain hotels, very suitable for a weekend stay. Food and drink at the adjoining pub was very good and reasonably priced.

Good two days stay!
Posted 2 Aug 2024 on HotelsHad a good couple of days in ghe Highfield. Room was a good size and clean, bed and sofa bed reasonably comfortable. Shower needs more pressure....no one on reception when we arrived but quickly sorted with a phone call.
