Lovely clean and modern rooms with really friendly staff and great to have access to all the facilities and the food was nice too.

Far too noisy for us with groups of men in the rooms either side of us.

What a mix of extremes- site difficult to find in darkness, easy in daytime. As you approach there’s a big board on right advertising what’s available in the ‘park’ which focussed your attention that side- the hotel is however ticked away uphill to the left. Receptionist tried very hard to help establish where i was and direct me. Room absolutely reeked of mould, having driven 3.5 hours through heavy traffic I was too tired to complain- but should have. Having just been diagnosed asthmatic I hadn’t anticipated how badly it would affect me in the night. Carpets also a bit stained. I didn’t expect things to be perfect , but perhaps better than I got. Overnight sleep was patchy as my room overlooks the A338 dual carriageway. Other than the mould and carpet, the room felt and looked spotlessly clean, bed was comfy, linen clean, shower nice and suitable power level. Tea/ coffee facilities good. Back to the mould, I investigated this in the morning after my troublesome night- my conclusion(right or wrong) was that this room hadn’t been used for a while - cleaners had tried hard to clean the mould away- dislodged grouting remained on window sills however. Room was freezing cold- it took a good couple of hours before the small wall heater got it up to an acceptable temperature. Aside from the main road, views out of the windows were lovely in daylight- wooded area. On leaving receptionist asked if had a good stay - I mentioned about the smell of mould & traffic noise-no real reaction

Dear Christopher, As kindly noted above, we have a very dedicated cleaning staff, who work tirelessly and to the best of their abilities. Throughout their stay, guests are more than welcome to request extra heaters and blankets to their room for the duration of their stay, if the room temperature is not to their liking. On booking and check-in, guests are also more than welcome to make Reception aware of any information they believe would impact their stay. However, this at the guests discretion. A night porter is also available throughout the night, if there are any issues. We do reiterate this to all guests on check-in. We are very lucky to be set in such beautiful grounds. However, due to these grounds being an area of natural beauty, we can only rent the grounds from the local council. Therefore, any enquires regarding our location, or street-lighting, must be directed to BCP Council directly. As well as being The Lodge Reception, we are also the Health and Golf Reception. We apologies if we were not able to address your complaints to your satisfaction on check-out. Unfortunately, Reception has no way of predicting when we will be busy. We value your feedback, and work tirelessly to make our guests experiences even better. We look forwards to welcoming you again soon, Reception

We love it here, staff are always so friendly and happy to be there, love the rooms, huge beds and lovely modern bathrooms. Super quiet area tucked away but close to town and beach etc. Pool and spa is fantastic!

The location was great as it was quiet, relaxed yet you could walk into town. The pool, sauna and steam room were superb. Our room was ok, but surprised there was no safe.

Good - Lovely pool and spa area, clean rooms, great staff Could be better - WiFi linked gym equipment was glitchy, limited menu, smart tv and fridge in room would be good
