Lovely property and helpful staff. No AC but only a plug in fan made for a warm night. Toilet in our room didn’t always flush.

Hi Liza, thanks for reviewing us. 80 degrees on Halloween, who knew that could happen? Yes, we took out our window AC units on October 1... but in the spring we'll be installing wall unit mini-splits HVAC units for year-round, guest control. Please stay with us again!

Amazing/clean place that makes you feel like you're back in time. The shared bathrooms weren't an issue at all. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable on things to do in Boston. I will be back my next time around. Thank you

This is definitely a unique hotel. It is sponsored by a historic women's club in Boston and they take good care of it and their visitors. I accidentally left a car key in my room, and the manager called my home to report that they had it. If she hadn't taken the time to do that. I would have arrived in San Francisco with no way to get home!

Great location. Unique decor. Lovely staff.
The only negative:
Our room overlooked an alley which was noisy at night.

Amy, we're glad you stayed with us, and thank you for reviewing. Our historic brownstone was built in 1864 and we try our best to keep it as beautiful today as it was then. Unfortunately, almost all city hotels have windows that face another "city view". Ask for a front-facing room next time!

Great location. Helpful, friendly staff. Large rooms. Lots of creaks (it’s a historic hotel). Seemed musty to me but lots of deodorizers around. Low water pressure in the shower. No TV in the room but free WiFi. Free breakfast and automatic coffee machine were very nice.

Thank you, Matthew, for staying with us and for your review. Built in 1864 in the beaux arts style, it does have a few cracks and creaks - which augment its beauty and character! We will be installing HVAC in all the rooms in the spring. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

This feels and looks like an 1800s house. For the money this is not worth it. If you have big bags, it is tough to get in the doors and up the stairs.

Jessica, it IS an 1800's house,1864 to be exact.. Perhaps you missed that in the B&B listing, but our consistently high reviews by reviewers say they love their stay. It's a home vs a hotel, with a nice breakfast, super staff, and the best location in the city - central and walkable to everything. Feel free to stop by the office in the morning.

I really enjoyed my long weekend at the College Club. The location was fantastic with so much within walking distance. My room was very comfortable, and the shared bathroom was never an issue (it is only shared with one other person, and I think we crossed paths once in 3 days). The kitchen area downstairs was handy, and the free cookies could have been a problem if I wasn’t walking 20,000 steps every day. The chef is right to be proud of the oatmeal raisin cookies, even if other people wished the chocolate chip to oatmeal raisin ratio was reversed. The staff and cleaning crew were very friendly. Just a lovely, quiet experience right in the heart of everything.
