To put it mildly, the area around the resort is somewhere between the 9th ward in NOLA and 8 mile in Detroit. Trash and junk vehicles fill the yards on Smith Bay Rd. Shady characters walk the streets at all hours of the day and night. STT has a high homicide rate, so travelers be aware of your surroundings. "
