Lovely hotel with character
Posted 8 Sep 2024 on HotelsVery quiet and peaceful setting. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Room was nice but very warm and unable to control temperature. We loved the bar/lounge area and the staff working on the bar were fantastic! It would have been good if the hotel offered an alternative dinner option to the their set menu e.g. pizzas or something cheaper and more convenient, as there were limited options locally for dinner without having to drive. Overall we had a great stay here, and would definitely visit again.

Dear Guest, thank you for leaving us your feedback. We are sorry that something did not fully meet your expectations, but we would like to briefly outline the architectural and historical value of the place where you stayed. The Hotel Boite is located within the former Eni Village, a small treasure of modernist architecture conceived by the brilliant minds of architect Gellner and Enrico Mattei. This village is nestled in a charming natural landscape and represents a unique historical heritage. Built in the 1960s, the hotel still preserves its original furnishings today, giving the rooms a timeless charm. We thank you anyway for you feedback and we send you warm regards from the Hotel Boite at Borca di Cadore.

Stayed here for a hiking trip to the Eastern Dolomites. The hotel itself is very picturesque with mountain views from the lobby terrace and from our room balcony. the common areas are very modern and spacious with a hotel bar that was a common place for guests to hang out in the evenings (but was never too loud even though our room was very close to the lobby). Included breakfast was excellent. Free parking out front. As others have said, the rooms are definitely outdated in appearance, but everything was clean and comfortable and functional.
The main downsides were:
1) The rooms have great mountain views but given the location they get a lot of afternoon sun and it was really hot/stuffy in August. Even with the balcony door open all night it was hard to sleep due to the temperature in the rooms overnight.
2) Not a very convenient location for Dolomites hikes (everything will be ~20-25 minutes farther away than Cortina). Also the hotel sits high up on a hill so it's not great for walking to restaurants/supermarket, but parking in town was very easy and the drives were short.

This hotel was built in 1963 and while it is an interesting example of that era, the hotel is badly in need of an update of facilities. The toilets do not flush effectively and there is no refrigerator nor any kind of cooling system which made for an uncomfortable stay during the heat of summer.
The staff at this hotel were amazing however and did their very best to assist us in every way. We wish to thank them for their kindness and consideration.
The morning breakfast was very good and is highly recommended.
Public transport options are very limited if you do not have a vehicle.

Dear Guest, thank you for leaving us this precious review. We take into heart the guest’s hospitality as it is our main priority, and we are pleased that our staff was able to give you a nice treatment. The Hotel Boite is part of the former Eni Village, a small treasure of modernist architecture conceived by the brilliant minds of architect Gellner and Enrico Mattei. Built in the 1960s, the hotel still preserves its original furnishings today, giving the rooms a timeless charm. Regarding the bathrooms, we are well aware of their conditions, and soon there will be renovation works to modernize the facilities while maintaining the essence envisioned by architect Edoardo Gellner. With the hope of welcoming you back among our esteemed guests, we would like to take this opportunity to send you warm regards from the Hotel Boite at Borca di Cadore.
