A staff member from the property contacted me via cell phone 24 hours prior to our check-in to notify us that our reservation was cancelled (reason will keep private per HIPAA) and that we'd receive a full refund.
After multiple voicemail and email messages to the property, the only response from them was to Expedia Customer Service denying any form of refund. Their cancellation policy for no shows is they charge one night's fees - I was still charged for two nights.
Expedia Customer Service response to me was "It is truly understandable that you would like to obtain refund for your hotel reservation. Please note that Expedia is subject to the rules and restrictions of our vendors and we do not have the authority to override their policies. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you."
I've been a loyal Expedia customer for years but if they are going to continue doing business with hotels that operate in this fashion I will now take my business elsewhere.

The owner went out of her way to meet our lost Uber driver and help us get there, packing her little boy into her car. She had a warm, cozy room on a cold night waiting for us. The bathroom was tiny and had no Kleenex or amenities but for an overnight, it was perfect. The Uber driver so had bad directions and it is not easy to find in the dark but Ashley came to the rescue very willingly. She was SO nice!

Posted 19 Oct 2019 on HotelsGreat little place on the hill in a nice neighborhood. Very clean and cozy. Wish we could’ve stayed more than one night. Ashley texted us ahead of time about arrangements and even recommended local restaurants and things to do! Now THAT’S customer service! We will be back and hope Hillside Suites is available next time. Low shower water pressure but that was easily felt with.

Really enjoyed the peacefulness of the room. It had a private hot tib, but we didn't have time to use it. The bed was really comfortable

This place is awesome. 10/10 liked location close to everything yet felt some what far away from the city so it was super chill and nice.
