Parking is street parking for bank across the street, not legal
I don’t think the room had been cleaned in days, shower was gross.
Sheets and bedding was clean but old and deteriorated, also gross

I loved is central to everything.
Staff was very attentive cordial and friendly.
In front is a mall and 1/2 block from the beach

Awful Experience for a Designated 3-Star Hotel
Posted 19 Feb 2020 on HotelsMintaka hotel is noted to be a 3-star one, however, it's really more like 1 or 1.5 star. If I have to rate it based on 3 stars, my experience there was awful, a hodgepodge of negative issues. My first room was extremely noisy as the room was close to the lobby and there was a gap between the door and floor. Sheets smelled and I woke up in the middle of the night to what looked like a bedbug on the pillow. Informing the hotel staff, I was asked to show the bedbug which means guests have to be prepared to show proof of issues experienced in whatever situation. Nonetheless, I appreciated the hotel staff agreeing to my request the next day, to change the room to one further away from the lobby. However, I still experienced the same issue with gap between floor and door, and woke up several times to noise from other guests walking and talking along the hallway, doors of nearby rooms opening and closing. Birds hovered around the breakfast area, breakfast was also of poor quality.
I decided to leave the hotel after two nights in order to save ruining the rest of my vacation, and forfeited the payment for the remaining three nights.

This is a 3 star hotel similar to a Motel 6 in the U.S. The staff is 24/7 and is friendly and professional. It is across the street from a small shopping mall as well as close to a number of small restaurants. There is a large souvenir bizarre downstairs from the hotel. It is one block from the beach. My only two complaints are that they would only give me one towel at a time. I would constantly have to request an additional towel. Also, there is a lot of street noise until late into the night even with the windows closed.
