"What a great hotel right by the airport. Clean, great room, comfy bed, free shuttle, friendly staff. It’s about 30 mins by uber to city center but if you’re looking to be close to the airport - this is perfect! "

"Staff were great, the hotel was perfectly clean and maintained, good breakfast, and conveniently located (hotel bus to airport to get the train there,or short walk to bus to museum quarter or train further afield) food was nice, breakfast had a good selection of options, and the mini-store was useful for a drink/snack at any other point "

"Location location location! 10 minute walk from the central station, and a 20 minute walk to the cruise terminal! Perfect location for a short stay when getting on a cruise. Add to this a room that is comfy, a nice size and spotless clean. Comfy bed with nice linens, a modern spacious bathroom with a large shower and loads of hot water. Hotel was pretty damned impressive, then add the smiling faces of the friendly staff who were ever eager tor please. Our stay face exceeded our expectations! "

"This is a very quirky hotel...with animals taking pride of place on walls, oh and a monkey lamp in my room. It is within easy reach of Schiphol airport with buses 40 yards away every few minutes. Very nice spacious rooms."

"I was really drawn to the Bastion Amsterdam Airport hotel for the shuttle service. Orange bus we were told. No orange buses came. After about 2 hours of trying to phone someone/anyone with no success, we were told by an AVIS worker what to look for. Our experience after with the shuttle was excellent. As for the cleanliness and housekeeping. It left alot to be desired. Spent 3 nights there and i dont think the floor was mopped/swept once. Grit underfoot. Garbage emptied but other little bits of rubbish on bench or floor, not touched not even bits that had obviously fallen out of the bin. Not happyJan! The food - well, good and bad. Breakfast was really delicious, plenty of variety and quite tasty. Dinner on the other hand, schnitzel was dry and tough but the mushroom sauce was to die for! A BIG, BIG plus was the friendly, helpful and cheerful workers at reception. Outstanding service!!! My fridge not working and it was fixed before I had finished dinner! Amazing! WOULD I STAY AGAIN? I probably would but would make sure my room was cleaned properly before I arrived and the menu was changed or added to giving more options that are more palatable. "

"This is a beautiful hotel to stay when you travel through Schiphol Airport or if you visit Amsterdam without staying inside the city. It is very easy to get to Amsterdam. Shuttle to the airport and a 15 min train ride to Central Station. The hotel is clean, has wonderful beds(!) great restaurants and breakfast buffet that is open early for when you have an early flight. The pool, welness area ( sauna and steam room) fitness are so convenient when you travel and still want to relax. Behind the hotel is a walking track, small park where you can exercise and walk. We love staying here when we arrive or depart The Netherlands through Schiphol airport. "

"Steep steps into the building, I ended up using the ramp. Check-in needed ID which I think could have been done via the app in advance. Enjoyed the room although some corridor noise, a second door from the hall or a better room door would have been good. If you are disturbed very much depends on the other guests. Some parts of the hotel looked unfinished but I think this might have been the 'look'. Bed comfortable enough. Restaurant downstairs was good service but average food. Not much in the immediate area but close to the Metro."
