Brief stay in Pau
Posted 26 Aug 2024 on HotelsOverall, a pleasant stay, just a shame the bar/restaurant is closed on a Sunday evening. Room was small, but well equipped and quiet. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good

The hotel was too isolated with very limited access to public transport or taxis (e.g. to restaurants or the airport). I arrived relatively late (10.30 pm) and my room key was available - but at a neighbouring hotel. In my two nights stay, i failed to understand where check-in or check-out actually was for the Campanile! Breakfast was fine, though. The room was clean and adequate for my needs.

Our room had a drains smell which we got rid of with lots of boiling water down the shower

Disappointed!!
Posted 18 Sep 2019 on HotelsVery disappointed. Usually the Campaniles are of a high standard and this one in Pau was exceptionally scruffy and tired looking. There was no area to sit outside on a lovely sunny day/evening and enjoy a cold glass of beer or wine after a long days drive. The bar area only had seating for 6 people. We have a dog and like to eat outside as dogs are not allowed in the restaurants, which is understandable. The stairs and walkways were dirty and the paint was peeling off the handrails. The light in the bathroom was not functioning properly and the safety catch on the window was broken as well as the framework.
All in all the place was very run down and scruffy. We would neverstay there again.

Pros: Good parking. Very clean room
Attentive polite staff but sadly no restaurant which was disappointing and would have helped to know before arrival so that we could have altered our eating timetable.
