the rooms were cold, damp covered in mould and uncomfortable! i have asthma and ended up really struggling due to the mould that was throughout the room. the bathroom had black mould all over the ceiling and the small hit you when you walked in... 2 days later i have a chest infection from the conditions!! the room was super cold and was a struggly to get the heating working, this coupled with thin flimsy bedding where i had to double over the duvet in order to get any heat in me and sleep fully clothed!! yes it was snowing outside. However, i paid for a comfortable room with heating otherwise i would have had a better night sleeping in my car which i did consider when i woke up shivering! the only good thing about this hotel was the restaurant food and the lovely receptionist everything else was dire and i wouldn't stay there again!

We stayed at the Regency for 1 night in an Executive Room. The room was spacious however it was tired in places. The hotel is good value for money but could benefit from an update. Staff were friendly and parking was plentiful.

On Friday nights there is a regular thing in the bar which has very loud music and goes on til midnight. Our room was right above it and as a family with two children this was all too much. When we asked in reception about the noise there was no offer to get it turned down. We were given a different room for our second night and a complimentary breakfast when we checked out. They did well to make up for it, but a better first night sleep would have been preferable. If you book a family room and its above the bar, ask to change it before you settle in for you can. Beautiful building though, great breakfast and generous room size if not a little dated. Work clearly underway to maintain it so generally all ok.
