Great stylish hotel. Rich breakfast. Our windows were pointing to the yard, so very quiet.

Hotel is unfriendly for foreign guests
Posted 23 Jun 2018This hotel is good only for those who speaks German. If you don't know German, you may have a hard time trying to check in after 6 pm.
When we arrived, we have found the gate closed and the letter with the instructions on how to get in was pinned to the gate. The only problem was that the letter was written in German, which nobody of us spoke. So, we had to spend a lot of time to find a local person who kindly helped us with reading the letter. This really has spoiled our impression about the hotel.
Other than that, the breakfast was below the expectations compared with other hotels we have visited in Germany and also, since they did not accept VISA at check-out, we had to waste some more time to find the ATM in town and to get some cash.

Little establishment, great room

Pros: The room, staff and overall feel of the hotel.
Location: We spent most of our time in Berlin
The hotel is located in Potsdam, about 45-60 min from Berlin. Our exploration was of Berlin and the Christmas Markets. We stayed two nights. Check in is by 6 PM but arrangements can be made to arrive later by calling ahead. There are about 7 rooms in the hotel, very creative and fun, not the usual box shape. Good varied breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. A 20-30 minute drive to the Potsdam train station. Full day parking is 10 Euro. The train trip into Berlin about half an hour.

Very nice welcoming hotel
Posted 4 May 2016The hotel was very pleasant, with a nice character in the architecture. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Just be aware that if you arrive late the main door may be locked, although there was someone in reception who let us in after a few minutes of knocking.

Location: Nice location, close to the water, and a clean and nice range of shops. We highly recommend World of Pizza just up the road as well :D
We travelled from the UK to Warsaw this Christmas via Car, and on the way there and back we stayed here at Alfred and Otto. We were very pleased on both stays with both the rooms and service we were given, Breakfast was fabulous, and we will definitely stay again. We also stayed with our two dogs who also loved the facilities.

Nice hotel close to Potsdam
Posted 16 Sep 2015 on HotelsWe stayed for one night on our bike trip. Nice little hotel with restaurant. Good breakfast and friendly service. However, they only accept cash or EC debit card which was not mentioned prior to booking. For international guests who only have credit cards this is somewhat inconvenient. The owner was quite unfriendly when I mentioned this. His reply was that I just have go to the bank and get cash!
