Nice hotel close to El Garrapatero Beach.

We booked this hotel under the pretense that the resturant was open for business and the taxi price rate was similar to the rest of Ecuador or the reviews in our travel book. Hotel served a nice breakfast BUT no other food is available so one must go into Puerto Ayora for lunch and dinner. The taxi rate to and from hotel into town can be anywhere from $10-$15 each way..... if u want to freshen up after a long tour that will be 4 taxi rides......$40-$60 per day. Lawrence offered us a ride into town twice which was great. If u need to rely on WIFI u can not here as it is very slow and intermittent. These r not negative comments they r just facts that we were not prepared for. The hotel is great with the pool, deck and the flora........ just needs to add transportation in our opinion.

Dear Anne Thank you for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed the pool and the flora and fauna. I am really sorry that you did not realize where the hotel was located. The location of the hotel is published on our listing, and guests who reserve this hotel do so because they prefer to be away from the center of town, away from the noise, etc. It is meant to be a nature lodge that is located in a secluded and peaceful area. The published rate for a taxi ride to town is $8, not $10-15 - so I am sorry to hear you were ripped off like that. We will make note to inform future guests what the going rate is. Taxis in Galapagos are much more expensive than the rest of Ecuador, due to higher costs of maintenance, fuel, etc. Yes WIFI is slow, but it is no slower than anywhere else in town, that is all that is available on the island. Thanks again for staying with us, and we are sorry that you found some inconveniences with the location.
