Better than expected near Budva
Posted 26 Oct 2023 on HotelsWe asked for a late checkout and the host informed it would cost 30e which we planned on paying, but were never charged the amount. The host then accused us of having planned to not pay and I tried explaining that it was a misunderstanding because he never told us to leave cash. I thought per the usual Hotels.com process that the additional cost would be billed through this company and our bill would be settled but the host did not add the cost and we had already left the country thinking we were charged through hotels.com as that has been the custom with all the years that I’ve used hotels.com.
There was very little communication with the host and he did greet us and allowed us to enter the property an hour before the regular check-in and for that I am grateful. Not the comfiest of furniture, but compared to the scam we had experienced the day before this place was palacial. Not very friendly area or neighbors and the host did a lot of assuming and name calling after we checked out and then we realized he hadn’t charged us. Again, I tried explaining we didn’t know it had to be paid in cash, we thought the late checkout was going to be toggled to our bill and he never communicated the need to leave cash.
Other than having a generally judgmental presence throughout our stay, he and his family were ok. Again, accommodations were ok, kitchen stock was poor to barely fairly stocked for basic cooking, very short 5min hot showers were necessary, hot water wait of an hour.

Dear, thanks for the rewvie. Just to clarify a few things. It is usual when someone checks out to call, to send a message that he is leaving the apartment. Then we come to wish the guests a safe trip home and if there is anything unpaid, we collect. You left the apartment in a big hurry, without greeting or answering. What could we think at that moment? We didn't even know you left, we only found out 2 hours later. Regarding communication, we don't want to burden our guests with irrelevant questions. When we saw you, we were always polite, wished you well and smiled. We were always available for any questions or requests you had. As for the neighborhood, I don't understand how you felt unsafe. Montenegro is one of the safest countries in Europe. We don't have armed robberies, mass shootings, car thefts, breaking into apartments, we don't have that. children roam the streets freely, we don't lock the front door at night because we feel safe. As for the guests themselves, they were ok, they just left a huge amount of trash in the apartment.

Absolutely beautiful apartment with gorgeous sea views. A little hard to find, but happened to stop and ask for direction from the owner himself 😁 friendly open communication. Couldn’t ask for better room or service.
