Lovely B&B on Quiet Street
Posted 12 Nov 2020 on HotelsThe North Street Inn is a lovely home in Beaufort's historic area. It is on a quiet street just two short blocks from the Beaufort River. It is not downtown but is a pleasant walk from that area. My room was a bit cold, but I did sleep very well in it. The owner, Kevin, fixed for breakfast some of the finest blueberry pancakes I have ever eaten! Coffee was excellent.

Property owner was friendly. But first impressions are hard to overcome. The exterior is in disrepair and needs significant attention. The house is lovely inside, but there were no other guests there. That seemed a little eerie. The “yellow room” was nicely appointed but the duvet was stained, the sheets and pillows smelled musty and the bathroom shower curtain was mildewed and stained. We spoke with the proprietor and stated our reasons for wanting to leave. We tried to be respectful, but this set-up is like an air-B&B. One where you voluntarily, knowingly rent a room, consenting in advance to sharing a house with two middle aged brothers. This was not like a traditional B&B where you rent a room amongst other guests in a home. The vibe was just plain weird.
