We stayed at Beachcomber with our two small children in one of their beachfront bures. I understand that beachcomber is on of the oldest resorts in Fiji and it shows. I mean the view, the beach and the water are incredible! However the hotel is old, run down, and needs a face lift. Beachcomber also has a mice investigation that was clear within about 20mins of being on the island. They were everywhere, they could use a couple island cats. We ended up leaving a night early after multiple mice dug holes in the sand to get into our beach bure and we were unable to get them out. I had a baby sleeping in a pack n play on the ground, I was not able to have mice running around with her on the floor. I spoke to someone in reception about this issue and her response was “sorry”, not offer to have a refund for the night, or even to help get the mice out. The pool was also closed for our stay, I’m not even sure if it ever opens, it looked filthy and the food was the worst we’d had at an island resort. You could do a day trip to beachcomber for the beach etc. but pack your own snacks!

I really liked the island in general. The room needs some attention and their cleaning standards are not the same as mine. The food was good, very tasty and varied. We’d have liked to have more fruit options though. There are mosquitoes, so make sure you take repellent. Oh and it can get very hot so consider getting a room with aircon.

The resort encompasses the entire small island. It takes 7-10 minutes to walk around island. Staff is excellent. Buffet food is good. The cost is inexpensive. Great place to kick back for R & R.

it was mouse and roaches all over the restaurant and rooms. they changed my room after maintenance caught 4 mouses in my room. They stole one bottle of jack on my last day after I noticed my bag was open and last one to be put on boat. I tired to call the manager Lessie but she said it next day so its too late to open investigation. the staff and the view and beach are excellent but that little pest control issue didnt make it for me; And the seating on woodden picnic table will kill your back after 3 days.

Well it was a nice room at first and friendly staff; after 48 hours I notice a pest control issues, mouses running around the restarant and small roaches in the dining and food area. They changed my room because we caught 4 little mouses with the glue , then it was ok. But the seating in the restaurant isn't comfy .
