Comfortable stay
Posted 9 Mar 2020 on HotelsThe room was large & cleaned everyday. Staff was friendly & helped get the bags to the room. On checkin there was only 1 towel & 1 water in the room but after a phone call housekeeping quickly brought the 2nd. Tishan is an excellent front desk rep. Super friendly, thorough & helpful. My booking said free breakfast which they don't do anymore but he honored it & put a note in our reservation so it wouldn't be an issue at checkout, and it wasn't. There was a light burned out in the closet/dressing area & it was fixed without ne even mentioning it. Pool towels are exchanged daily in the room or out at the pool. The only issue with the room was the standup shower had no hot water but it didn't matter bc there was also a tub with a shower. There's great water pressure in the bathroom. The big issue is the staff in the Veranda restaurant at breakfast; they're very passive aggressive so they can be nasty one minute but super friendly the next. It's annoying bc you don't know how you'll be treated day to day or even minutes to minute during breakfast. It's weird. You don't get that from any other department in the hotel. We'r didn't like the menu at fisherman's wharf restaurant so we didn't try it. Serendipity restaurant next door is very good. Nice staff & delicious food. Hotel parking is on the street but there's always somewhere to park. The gym seems to be the local gym. It appeared to have nice equipment but it's always full of locals. Checkout was fast, friendly & efficient.

Nice boutique hotel! Apparently it caters to business people who are off to meetings during the day cause we had the amazing pool all to ourselves both days. They also do not play any music by the pool which we find desirable, so definitely not for partiers. No beach or even a beach nearby so pool only. Pool bar is not always open so be prepared to make cocktails or cold drinks in your room. Beautiful views of the harbor and cruise ships. One perfectly adequate breakfast lunch restaurant on site and for dinner there's another restaurant down by the bay, Fisherman's Wharf, which is also part of the hotel. Very good and you get a true Caribbean feel and flavor while dining or enjoying a cocktail. Serindipity is another restaurant just a block away that was highly recommended but we didn't get the chance to try. Hotel is close to downtown Basseterre so not the best part of the island and again not a beach hotel but very quiet and possibly a good home base for catching snorkeling or scuba trips as harbor is close by. Room was nice and beds comfy. Small fitness center also on site. If you're looking to stay put and don't wish to socialize much but rather rest up, read, sun and lounge by the pool and don't wish to venture far for meals OTI just might fit the bill.

Thank you for the review, we will definitely look into having longer hours at the pool bar as opposed to the daily 10:00am-6:00pm. Unfortunately, we are not located next to a beach but we do have a daily complimentary beach shuttle :)

The OTI is in a lovely location with great views. The staff are welcoming and helpful. We would stay there again.

Liked - clean, proximity to Serendipity which was amazing. Disliked - too remote from shopping and most dining. Nearby homes protected by razor wire and barbed wire. Shuttle only for the airport and beach.
