Good place to stay for one night, older property

Good sized room with modern amenities. Loved the Route 66 decor.
What i didnt like is huge gap on side of door, i could see daylight outsode my room and bigs could wasily enyer, I also could hesr everything outside. Room was near road so noise from cars driving by all night. My feet turend black walking around without ahoes, my bathmat was blackm no hot water, only luke warm. Aink wouldnt drain so i had to wash my hands and drush teeth in kitchen sink. Room needed mopped and sink fixed. Wanted a hot shower and was cold and tried two days hoping it would heat up.

The floor was absolutely filthy. After a shower I walked back to the main room and my feet were black as coal.

I booked this motel in Australia well before I flew into the USA. It looked quirky snd it was pretty cheap. On arrival I was relieved to see it looked like the pictures.
It's an old motel, so it has its "lived in" look, and I was a tad uneasy when I opened the door to our room, as i had assumed it would be old, smelly, and very run down.
The room was EXCELLENT!!! So clean, tidy, no musty smells, gear tv, bes comfortable, and I even had a shower with out my flip flops on, it was that good!!
Wonderful surpirse all throughout

Where do I start?! We were given the room everything looked good from the outside, nice and cute until you open the door. The bedding was clean the pillows were adequate. The mattress was average economy Hotel. However, they could stand to at least wipe all the grungy handprints off the switch covers and walls! Drip marks on the walls splatter marks on the ceiling, grout in the shower enclosure was obviously not cleaned Within months if not years! The shower head was old looked very corroded and it almost looks like someone used Flex a seal or electrical tape on it! The window in the bathroom had very visible mildew all around it. And please answer me why hotels just spackle and paint like they're drunk LOL a little TLC and wiping down the walls after they're treated correctly would make the place look so much better! The unit we were in had absolutely no Furnishings except for the bed, a table and two fixed kitchen type chairs. There was no nightstands at all. The vanity was one of those small ones like you would put in a washroom with literally no counter room on it whatsoever. Next to it was a small refrigerator which I must say had something disgusting in the freezer compartment you couldn't even identify what it was! And there was a microwave sitting on top of it that was not very clean. After taking a shower my wife looked at her feet after just walking around in the room getting some things together and she had to go wash her feet again they were literally black! Mop?
