Lovely and relaxing country setting
Posted 30 Jan 2016 on HotelsWe wanted to stay for two nights in the Sheffield region of Tasmania with a countryside setting but still close enough to Cradle Mountain for a day trip. Glencoe was the perfect place and fulfilled all of our requirements and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Its a traditional cottage / homestead with five bedrooms that has been renovated with a French country setting in mind. The hosts Ginette and Remy are from Paris and have done a great job with the place. They prepare dinner each night and the food was fabulous with a good selection of wines. Glencoe was very relaxing, peaceful and scenic and we would love to come back here again some day.

Lovely Quiet Retreat
Posted 26 Jul 2015 on HotelsStayed one night here in a garden room. Very pleasant hosts & a well kept retreat.
Breakfast was a real treat with all home grown produce.
Would love to have spent a few days here to take all on offer in.

Pleasant country home.

Pros: Very amiable French lady who provides an adequate Continental breakfast.
The room is large and the bathroom quite nice. Good linen.
Cons: It's a little expensive for just a Continental breakfast.
Location: Country location. Not much nearby. A reasonable start point for Cradle Mountain.
Closes reception at 6:00 so you need to contact her if you're late. A key will be left out for you.
It's a fair way (9 km) out of Sheffield, so be aware of that when planning.
Quite well sign posted.
