Delightful winter stay in the French Pyrenees
Posted 7 Jan 2023 on HotelsWe have just jab the most wonderful stay at Le Central. Our hosts Christophe and Alain went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They went to the trouble of moving our room when my husband a keen birdwatcher wanted a river and Mountain View. Breakfast was included which was always top notch and the restaurant food was freshly prepared and very reasonably priced. The had a very good wine list and once more the wines were well priced. All in all we couldn’t have asked for more and we will certainly return.

Fabulous hotel with friendly staff

Posted 10 Sep 2020 on HotelsWe eat our a lot in france. The restaursnt at le Central offers better value than we ever find anywhere else . Dinner is 22 euros for 3 courses, but you also get nibbles and soup, making it feel like 5. And , incredibly, the menu changes completely every day. Good wines too, both by the glass and bottle

Half way up the Col du Tourmalet!

Pros: The location is perfect for the entire region. The dinners, cooked and served by the owners were terrific.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Bike the Col du Tourmalet and imagine competing in the Tour de France. Hike the Cirque de Gavarnie (a World Heritage Site).
5 ideal day. The days spent hiking and exploring the Pyrenees National Park and the evenings recuperating with incredible French 4-course meals and some great local wine!

Excellent hotel good value and superb food
Posted 26 Jan 2015We found the decor fresh and funky, the room enormous for the price. Lovely jacuzzi bath in our bathroom plus very nice clean spa area downstairs. Food was DELICIOUS and wine menu varied and very affordable. Staff were lovely and we really can't recommend this hotel enough. Fantastic value.
