We were warmly greeted and the check in process was smooth.
The room was spacious and clean. The roll out bed did not have an end at the end of one of the mattresses so my son’s pillow ended up on the floor in the night.
The room felt cold. We turned up the heating but it still felt cool - maybe because of the flooring? Unfortunately there was no heating in the bathroom so it was freezing and there was no way of drying towels. We were only staying 1 night and as we’d travelled for hours we wanted to shower but the towels were still wet in the morning when we wanted to take a shower before travelling for 19 hours. Not so pleasant. Also, there was no ventilation/extractor fan so the mirror steamed up quickly so the mirror became unusable.
The restaurant is quite niche. They serve Japanese fusion food with no kids menu. When we couldn’t find anything that the kids would eat (without paying 30 euro per child) I went to the bar to ask if there was a different bar menu or room service menu. I was told there was no other option, but that they could offer chicken nuggets. Shame that information was offered by the restaurant staff.
2 of our diners also have nut allergies. It was one of the groups birthday and we had hoped to get a pudding to sing happy birthday. Unfortunately that wasn’t possible as there were not nut free options. The bar staff were really kind and brought over a bowl a sweets and with a candle in.
Overall the hotel was not what I expected for the brand.
