Room smells terrible
Posted 17 Jun 2021 on HotelsThe worst mercure chain in Indonesia. I’m a bss traveler and I stayed in many mercure hotels all over.
Day 1 : checked in at 7 pm and had to wait for 45 mins for my room. Inside it smells weird but too tired to complain
Day 2 : found 1 roach in the cupboard the room smells terrible
Day 3 : found another mini roach inside the bathroom
Day 4 : checked out ASAP
I would change hotels if I have the time. I was just too tired and couldn’t argue that’s why I stayed.
Seriously not recommended

Second time I have stayed here and always for more than 2 weeks ,location is perfect being at the shopping centre . The room is perfect , good bathroom , good bed , AC and TV all good , Gym and pool both very good . The staff are the best .
My only issue is that the hotel shares the access ramp with the shopping centre car park and on the weekend it can take 20 minutes just to get up and down the access ramp . and my driver has to pay just to drop and pick me up , the hotel really needs its own access ramp and extra parking and drop off and pick up should be quick and easy and free .

Hotel attached to shopping mall
Posted 14 May 2017
Pros: Adjoined to shopping mall and has a well presented outdoor and pool area.
Cons: Bathroom needs shower only. Floor always saturated due to design with shower in bath. Wifi needs to be one log in for your stay.
Location: Adjoined to shopping mall which is helpful as it others opportunities to find food if hotel menu doesn't meet your requirements.
Really wanted to like
We arrived at hotel at 7pm and our room wasn't ready. Reception staff called to have the room made up. They told us 15 minutes and to wait in lounge area in lobby, however no one came to advise us if the room was ready. After 30 mins we approached the reception desk and they acted like we had just arrived. Given the letter left under our door later that night stating the hotel was at full occupancy we are unsure if we even got the room we paid for.
Room was spacious bed was comfortable however the bathroom was not set up well. With the shower in the bath the bathroom floor was always saturated with water. The way its designed the water follows the tiles around the bath and runs onto the floor instead of into the bath. Not sure of the requirements of others but a shower not in a bath seems a more practical inclusion in a hotel room.
Had constant problems with electricity. The power went out in the room almost daily.
Internet was unpredictable. Strangely the wifi modem for the room was plugged into a power outlet which is controlled on the light circuit so you turn the light out and lose wifi in the room. Again strangely you have to log into the wifi in your room then every time you leave and return you need to log in again. Go down stairs to lobby you need to log into a different wifi then again when you leave and return to lobby you need to log in again. Very un user friendly.
Breakfast buffet limited for westerners. Pool area and surround well presented

20 nights at Mercure Banjarmasin.
Posted 22 Oct 2016
Pros: That it was a clean and modern hotel .
Cons: The car park issues .
Location: Hotel is built on top of the biggest shopping mall in Banjarmasin and is also good central location .
I had 20 good nights at the Mercure , The hotel is very modern and everything is in very good condition and clean , All the Hotel staff are very good at their Jobs and know what they are doing . My hotel room was a standard room but still it had a king size bed and the room had lots of space with good A.C , 32''T.V , Fridge and WIFI , very happy with this room . The Hotel is built on top of a Shopping centre mall , so for me it was perfect location .
The Hotel is 1 hour from the Airport , but on Saturdays and Sundays allow for 2 hours as the traffic is unforgiving , plus at the moment with the shopping mall carpark and hotel being developed it could also take 30 minutes to get through the car park to the Hotel , and another 30 minutes to get out of the carpark on Saturdays and Sundays only .
When i am in Banjarmasin again i will stay at the Mercure again as it an excellent hotel and good value for money .
