Excellent location in the old town with walking distance to all attractions. The hotel room is spacious and staff was friendly. The hotel restaurant is great and the breakfast was good. Highly recommended.

Very convenient location with a great breakfast
Posted 22 Oct 2023 on HotelsStaff is great! Breakfast is the best I’ve had in a while. Very nice selection and service. Great location - easy to get to. We had a car and were able to park at the hotel which was very helpful.
The rooms are very basic with no decor so feel a bit outdated, but were clean. The bed had one small and very soft pillow which wasn’t ideal for me (I didn’t ask for another but I’m guessing we could’ve gotten more).

No on-site parking available. Difficult to find offsite parking. The restroom was extremely small. No elevator so you have to carry luggages up the stairs.

Charming hotel and a caring attitude
Posted 9 Jul 2023 on HotelsHotel Wilde Rose is also called a 'guest house' in its publicity, and this shows itself in the friendly atmosphere and care taken by the staff. It is situated with quick access to the beautiful Old Town, right next to GruneMarkt. Be aware that check-in closes at 6.00pm! However, if you ring the hotel to say that you need to arrive later, the helpful proprietress will give you a keycode to input on arrival, and the keys to enter the property and your own room will be released to you via a sort of 'letterbox'. As this is a historic building (1628!) I also discovered that there is no lift. The proprietress had me down for a room on the 3rd floor, but kindly changed this to the 1st floor, when I explained that I had a heavy suitcase! It worked out OK. The Wilde Rose was a very pleasant, authentic and relaxing place to stay, and a good base to explore the historic city.

Good price for the location
Posted 31 Oct 2022 on HotelsEnjoyed our stay. Convenient to dining, shopping and the historic district. Room was simple, but clean and at a reasonable price for the location with breakfast included. A little loud on Saturday night with people talking in the communal spaces in the stairwell area, but Sunday night was quiet. Will stay here again if in Bamberg.

It’s in a perfect location. One drawback was that there is no elevator. The stairs are good exercise, though.
