Villa Celestial is aptly named, beautiful
Posted 24 Aug 2021 on HotelsAn absolute gem of a property. Amazing views, amazing staff, awesome food and privacy prevails. Whether it is lounging in your own plunge pool/hot tub overlooking the Whales Tail, or doing your own exploring in the vast jungle, you can do as much or as little at Vista Celestial. In some places you can take the statement, "4x4 a most" to get to the property, with a grain of salt, not here. YOU NEED A 4 wheeled drive vehicle to transverse up to the property over some very steep terrain. But don't worry if you don't, they will come get you, but it is a really fun drive up and down. Also, getting from main house to villas is a nice climb/descent.

Beautiful private location with an amazing view.
Tough road up mountain especially when it’s being worked on.

I’ve stayed at many places all over the world and this is my favorite. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and offer impeccable service. The property is heavenly. From the beautiful view to the waterfall and animals, you will love this retreat! Great food too!

Honeymoon in Paradise
Posted 21 Jan 2018 on HotelsMy wife and I enjoyed an amazing 1-week honeymoon here. A beautiful place operated by wonderful people.
I came across VC through searches for resorts that provide gluten-free dining options, so it wasn't a factor for us (Celiac) during this special week. They were responsive to my queries beforehand and all the staff were extremely attentive. At one point, the food was so good we began doubting that it actually could be GF. They noticed and graciously had the chefs describe their recipes/ingredients. Above and beyond!
The pictures are true. The clean villas have a spectacular valley and ocean views (of Uvita's Whale Tail). We ventured out for snorkeling (Cano Island) and nature-watching (Rio Sierpe), which were both fun and run by good operators. VC covered all of the arrangements, which made things easy. For NYE, they brought in two fantastic salsa dance pairs. We otherwise lounged at our villa, in the private hot tub, sipping champagne, listening to the birds, and staring at the stars.
We flew into SJO and had planned to connect on a regional flight to Quepos to trim the travel time. Be aware that the immigration line at is long, and that Sansa Air will give your pre-booked/paid seats to others and tell you the flight is closed for maintenance. We had to take a 3-hour van at night to connect to our 1-hour taxi to VC, which made for a very long travel day. But at the end of a very steep and bumpy road is paradise, well worth the journey!
