The property owners were exceptionally kind and helpful. The property was nestled in the mountains with glorious views. I would highly recommend staying here!

My issues I experienced are that our carpet was highly dirty, (it looks as if the carpeting hasn’t been shampooed ever) what kind of lodge doesn’t off razor blades to their guests, and at 8:15am we had absolutely no water! And of course there wasn’t an employee in the office to lodge or concern to.

We’ve been on a great streak with our guests so reviews like this are always very disappointing. We apologize deeply for the multiple problems experienced by Breine on this occasion and are anxious to not have the same kind of issues repeat themselves. For the rest of our guests, however, I would like to clarify a few things. I don’t think it is fair to call our carpet “highly dirty and never cleaned", or even close to that. Numerous other reviews will attest to that. Regular carpet cleaning is an obvious given here as when we are busy, in this semi-rural, dry, and outdoorsy setting, it does not take long to turn “clean” into “kinda dirty”, particularly with some of those special guests who are unusually good at helping the process along. But it is true we have been very busy of late with back-to-back occupancies and, given we need a full 24 hours to do a comprehensive cleaning with dry time, we are often left to spot cleaning which, in this case, was evidently not enough. Apologies again.Regarding razors, I admit that in my decade here I have never had a single request for one, never mind from a woman in the process of checking out. But notes have been taken and we will get some for future needs. Then the water… We are part of small community here so when the water does go down, which is fortunately a very rare occurrence, it is always alarming. On this occasion, about 70 people were affected by the brief outage but the water operator was quickly aware of the problem and had us up and going with the backup system in a matter of minutes, not hours, so we considered that a nice win. Still, no water, like internet, power and heat, even for a little bit, can be a major inconvenience and mood killer, as we know too well. Lastly, it is true I was not in the office at 8:15, even though there are those who feel there should be someone sitting behind the desk from 7 to 10 every day, despite us having only 11 rooms. Yet when this guest called the lodge number, I picked up and answered right away. As I am the manager as well, I guess I’m not sure why that was not enough but, again, apologies…Scott

Short walk thru the meadow, kids loved the pond, easy access to our venue, upstairs noise was kind of loud, but......
Beautiful weekend
