Wow
Posted 20 Jul 2024 on HotelsFantastic stay. Great restaurant. I really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner options.
Very popular place to have a drink. The owner is hands on and sponsors a variety of public events like blass band and other performers outside the hotel square.
2nd floor has a massive balcony patio, library, reading room, etc. There’s also the ability to rent an ev car or bike right from hotel.
All guests I talked to enjoyed their stay and other locals in town have called it a hot spot for hanging out.
One thing that is NOT unique to Austria at all is lack of AC. That is just how just about every hotel is going to be so it requires some planning on opening windows and such.
I had a single room and it was great for a solo traveler including a comfortable chair and desk to work at. Plenty of room. Great bed.

Right in the centre of Bad Hofgastein, in the pedestrianised area, close to everything. Free parking was couple of hundred meters away rom the hotel. Staff at the hotel were friendly from check-in to check out. We needed to leave early on the day of departure, before the start of breakfast but it wasn't a problem to go for breakfast earlier. Breakfast traditional continental buffet with variety of meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, etc.
Room was nice with everything we needed for our short break. I believe the hotel has a storage room for skis and other winter sports equipment but this wasn't required at this time.
Will definitely return

Fantastic hotel, wonderful staff. Great location!

Pros: Good location, comfortable room, nice restaurant.
Location: skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, shopping and easy access by bus up and down the valley
We wanted to stay in Bad Gastien but due to no availability there, we stayed in Hot Bad Gastien and chose the Hotel Salzburghof. This was such a pleasant surprise! The village is lovely, and the hotel is great. The restaurant is lovely with nice food, They offer an amazing breakfast and the rooms are very comfortable. Don't be put off by the green carpet - this place is a gem!
We really enjoyed visiting the the Therma in Hot Bad Gastien, which we preferred to the one in Bad Gastien, going on local hikes and taking the bus up the valley to Bad Gastien. There's so much to do and it's easy to get around without a car.

Comfortable stay in a beautiful setting.
Posted 27 Jun 2015We got a really good deal, so for us it was totally worth the price. Clean, comfortable and reasonably close to werfen ice caves and Lichtensteinklamm. Also a lot of good hiking options in the area we unfortunately didn't have time to explore. Seemed to have decent skiing as well but we were there off season.

A Middle-Road Hotel
Posted 21 Jan 2015
Pros: Very large room.
Cons: Having an actual bar, and being a bit more gemutlich
Location: Central to a rather spread out and now spoilt village
WE stayed as it was recommended in a skiing guide book. Check-in etc was very efficient, but when we came to settle our bill we had to pay the local tourist tax , although it was clearly shown as included I our pre-paid bill
