Unique property with traditional yet perfectly convenient interior fittings, lovely staff, good breakfast choices even for vegans. Only minor minus was that there was no kettle in the room.

Great location. Free parking. Friendly staff. Helpfull. In the old town center. Very quit room. Fast check in and check out. Nice big room with comfortable bed. Very modern bathroom

The experience staying this hotel was brought to a higher level after i retrieved my wallet, which was left during my check-out. I drove 1h away from the hotel since my wallet was missing. When I drove back to the hotel, the warm-hearted receptionist welcomed me with the wallet in her hand already! What an angel 😇 Highly recommend this hotel for not only great atmosphere of traditional German decor, but also variety of breakfast & real nice dinner in the Restaurant. Staff are amazing warm-hearted with big thumbs up!!!

Great location in Bad Hersfeld

Placed right in the centre of Bad Hersfeld its ideal if you want to spend time shopping or business. Its an old hotel so you expect creeks and squeaks and slopes on upper floors. We had a good size room , well equipped, WIFI was ok for the smartphone but not the laptop. However the big squeaks on the floorboards when we walked outside the room left me worried. Breakfast spread was good and I think you were able to order if there was nothing you wanted. We ate at the restaurant which is a Michelin star rated. Service was good but food over rated in my opinion.

The foundation walls of the "Stern" are over 1000 years old and the building has been used for at least six centuries as a hotel. Apart from that, we always renovate and modernize to offer our guests a perfect product at all times. Due to the construction of our historic, listed hotel complex with 7 buildings built together, there is not always a possibility to avoid squeaks, but there is no need to worry about. We regret that you have found our prices to be too high, but we have the opinion that these are in line with the quality of our restaurant. Great location. Rooms very very dated and small. Bathrooms was updated and nice.

Charming, Romantic and Cozy

We loved it! Yes, it is right in the middle of town so could walk everywhere. Market Day was right in front on the square. There are two charming restaurants and the food delcious. But the best part of all was the warm and oh-so-helpful staff. We are from the US and do not speak German. We were on a mission to locate a childhood house . The owner of the hotel, all the townsfolks with whom we talked, in addition to the staff were very helpful and caring. If we are lucky enough to go back, Hersfeld and the Romantic Hotel Zum Stern would be our destination.

Very nice stay

This is a very nice hotel, centrally located in my small hometown, where I stay regularly on my trips to the 'old country'. It has class in a subdued way and extremely helpful and friendly personell. The only drawback are the parking facilities, but one is very helpful to accommodate and repark one's car. Internet service is without charge, which I appreciated very much and in line with the big hotels in the USA. This is still not standard procedure in Europe and one often feels exploited.
