The hotel section (there's a connected restaurant across the road) was tidy, modern, warm and well decorated. We had booked a 'mountain view' room, but were given a lake view room at no extra cost, and which saved us an extra flight of stairs to carry bags. The manager, who greeted us, was very friendly, helpful, and even insisted on helping us with one of our bags going upstairs.
We ate a couple of times in the restaurant opposite that's associated with the hotel. Food was excellent both times. Breakfast was generally good, although there are a lot of flies in the area, and they were all over the cold meat & cheese that wasn't covered up.
The only real hiccups were that the automated lights didn't always come on when going up the stairs, and the shower enclosure was a poor design that simply leaked water through approx 1cm gaps between door and enclosure.

typical french village hotel/ bar
Posted 12 Jul 2020 on HotelsIt is run by a very nice couple who were masked and kept social distancing. A very good steak evening meal but limited choice with only 3 choices at each course. No fish on menu tho close to a fresh water lake? Local trout ??If you take top front rooms you have a balcony overlooking the lake. The room was clean but basic. A small but smart shower with basic shampoo etc. No amenities such as kettle tv etc .

Great find on Expedia while looking for a night's rest on my way home from Geneva to Moncrabeau in Lot-et-Garonne. The rooms are simple but spotlessly clean and more than adequate for an overnight. Blackout shutters Lovely quiet village with a view from my room overlooking Lake Aydat. Marco, the owner is delightful and also owns the restaurant across the road, La Cocotte Bleu. Delicious food with 3 courses for 25 Euros for dinner and exellent service. The WiFi could do with an upgrade at the hotel as it was only 0.5 mb in my room, but not a big issue for 1 night and the 4G is good here at 25mbs on my iPhone. The restaurant has a much faster connection at 15 mbs, which might seem slow to city dwellers, but in the French countryside that is super fast! No lift, so might be challenging for guests with mobility issues. All in all very happy with my stay. Good job Le Marius Hotel!
