Now, almost 150 years later, the Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard is one of the most respected wineries in the Hunter Valley, exporting to both Australia and abroad. It’s been rated as one of the top 10 cellar doors in Australia.At the cellar door, learn about the flavours, processes and varieties of wine from the informative staff. Visitors to this winery will love the picturesque landscape, so enjoy some free samples of the winery’s signature shiraz before moving out to the deck to enjoy a bottle while looking at the views.Learn about the history of Audrey Wilkinson at the on-site museum. Detailed stories, photographs and relics are presented in a fascinating exhibition. When you walk around you get a sense of the history of both the winery and the region, which is the oldest wine region in Australia. See the original vineyards and the changes that have been made to uphold the quality established by the Hunter Valley pioneers.Many visitors to Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard won’t want to leave, and thanks to the two holiday cottages you don’t have to. Enjoy panoramic views of the Brokenback Mountains each morning as you wake up within the grounds of the historic winery. Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard is located in Pokolbin, in the heart of the Hunter Valley. While the town can be reached by bus, the winery itself is a little out of the way and best reached by car. Free on-site parking is available. The cellar door, vineyard and museum are closed Christmas Day.
