Stayed Thursday 12th Sept 2024
The private room was on the 10th floor and it was cold but the receptionist did warn me and give me an extra blanket. The lamp and wall plug were across the room / at the bottom of the bed so that was a bit annoying. I had come from LA over night so they did let me in to shower but charged me $5 + $5 to borrow a towel. The shower was luke warm but this morning was hot. Luggage storage is free. You must scan your key fob to access the lift/ elevator so that felt safe.

Kia ora Sarah,Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I really value your input.Based on what I read, I see that you have been charged NZD 5.00 for taking a shower prior to check-in and also NZD 5.00 for a towel. You should not have been charged this, as the NZD 5.00 charge is really only for people having a shower without being checked-in. Also, the private room you booked comes with towels included.I have followed up with the staff that served you that day and provided training around this topic.I have also refunded NZD 10.00 to your card. Depending on your bank this may take up to 3 working days to reflect on your account. Please let me know if you have any other questions or feedback.Ngā mihi,

I stayed in a private room, which itself was very clean and comfortable. However the remainder of the facilities left a lot to be desired. The kitchen is small and cramped for the size of the hostel, with insufficient items for use. E.g. I could only ever find 3 knives in the whole kitchen. Similar can be said for the dining area. The location was fine, though a bit of street noise on a Friday night.
Seemed that those in dormitories were given their bedding on check in and had to make up beds themselves. Seems odd to me. Staff on the front desk did the bare minimum.
