We went by train but a car would be beneficial as although not far from the village it's a little remote with unlit dirt tracks probably ok in summer but not recommended coming home from the village pub in the dark. "Just a weekend away in February. Pretty dreich outside and bitterly cold, so it was a time to hunker down but our room provided space for board games and a TV. Bar was good.
