If you want to experience an 1898 Victorian mansion with just enough history and modern conveniences to make it comfortable,then you will enjoy your stay at Chestnut Charm Bed and Breakfast. Barbara is a great informative host.

The inn owner of very sweet and friendly. I have enjoyed a very quiet and peaceful stay. I played the old piano and sat in the quaint living room. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

I really liked the full breakfast, well balanced and prepared just for us. I liked being able to talk with the host to select the best room for us, she was right. The suite was very comfortable and just right for us.

arrived at the home and it didnt match the picture on website. the home looked abandon from the outside landscaping overgrown. parking in rear of home had zero lighting was unsafe.Once in the home appeared that sunlight hasnt been seen inside for years was dark and no lighting. There was a smell inside downstairs. Our room had window AC couldnt cool room very well. No hair dryer in bathroom and no TV. Breakfast in the morning was at extra cost. Paid for two nights but only stayed for one. Would not recommend staying here.

The landscaping with mowed lawns here is based on eco-friendly, flower filled models and not concrete, sterile parking lots!. It is a great treat for guests to see herds of deer and flocks of birds and butterflies grazing on the vegetation here. The flowers have disappeared since it is early autumn but the leaves are beginning to turn colors. Not once did you talk with me about your concerns. The brand new air conditioner works if you had turned the knob to cool instead of fan. A hair dryer was available in room tvs and hairdryers are in the Jacuzzi suites. I have live flowering plants growing in the mansion and they get plenty of natural sunlight. The rest sounds like slanderous sour grapes assumptions. You chose to leave without telling me about your definite plans not to return when you handed me your room key. You told me your return might be late that night and your departure Sunday morning would be early. I honored your reservation for two nights. Are you and your wife going to pay for the damages to my antique staircase?

Probably used to be a nice property but it needs some attention. Bed was comfortable and room was nice but limited.

There was NO reason for you to smash your hard sided suitcase against the antique balusters on my wide staircase and break them even after I offered to help you. Very disrespectful to other people's property. The pictures and descriptions are accurate. Only you know why you chose the guest room to reserve. Not once did you talk with me. My historic 126 year old mansion is lovely.

Don’t let the outside fool you, this home is a beautiful example of its 1890’s heritage. Stunning stained glass, original woodwork and windows. The beds are firm and breakfast comes with wonderful stories if you request them.

Staying in a Victorian Mansion with History
Posted 13 Jun 2024 on HotelsIf you want to step back into the age of lumber barons and other characters, then this is the place to stay! Be sure to ask Barbara about the history of the mansion. It is fascinating - dating back over 125 years. The bed and the room were very comfortable. Everything was spotless. The center of Atlantic is just a short walk away. It was easily accessable even on a very warm Spring evening. We would absolutely stay here again.
