I recently stayed at this property, and while it boasts a stunning location right on the bay, my experience was disappointing due to poor management and a lack of attention to detail. The location is fantastic—close to popular restaurants and nightlife. The property itself is gorgeous, offering incredible views of the water. However, the hotel lacks the leadership and hospitality expected from such a prime spot. Upon check-in, the owner was sitting off to the side in the lobby on his phone, offering no greeting or assistance. A young man walked us to our room, but no one offered help with our luggage, which was surprising. The room was clean but shabby and outdated, with an exposed light switch plate in the bathroom. The decor felt neglected, and there was a table on the upper deck right outside our window, allowing us to hear every conversation from guests sitting there. The restaurant on the property is beautiful, offering fantastic views, yet it was completely empty during our stay. In contrast, the restaurant across the street was bustling with a great atmosphere. Given the location, the hotel’s restaurant should have been the go-to spot, but it’s clear the property is poorly managed. Overall, while this hotel has incredible potential, it needs more care, attention, and stronger leadership. With proper improvements, it could be an amazing destination. As it stands, it feels like its best days are behind it.

I had an exceptional stay at Tavern on the Bay Resort! The serene atmosphere and stunning ocean views created the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring every detail of our stay was just right. The room was clean.The on-site dining was amazing, with delicious meals served in a charming setting. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat by the ocean.

Unique and just right

The room was very unique and totally fit my family needs. The outdoor balcony was comfortable and the views were amazing. We would definitely stay again!

It was a beautiful view from our balcony. Room was comfortable. Staff really wasn't very attentive at all. I asked for an extra blanket. They said they'd look and never came back about it. I asked again. He said he looked and there were none. Room was very cold. We left early and no staff there. I went out before my husband to the car with luggage. Little did I know the door locks behind you so he had to bring the rest down on his own. Overall happy with our stay.

NJ Not relaxing much needed vacation

Unfortunately it is not as depicted in pictures. Bed was horrible. Lumpy with nails from box spring poking mattress; staples sticking out side of mattress. E weren’t told we had to call for room service. Asked for clean sheets (done) and bath towels. Received two towels no clean hands towels or washclothes. They left dirty stuff in floor where we had stacked it. Gross. Called and requested and they would be right up. Didn’t happen. Next morning I let the manager know how unhappy we were. Came back for our last night to new towels and clean sheets. Air conditioning was antiquated. Hangers were from the 50. . . Maybe 60’s. View was a postage stamp size. No coffee in room and not available Monday and Tuesday and on Wednesday whenever the guy showed up but it stops at noon daily. No coffee even in restaurant. Needless to say for the $$$ we paid there are a list of other sad things with this room. Concept is good but I think we got taken financially. Someone needs to work with management to bring this up to par and make it a good stay.

Incorrect. There is free coffee in the lobby at all times. The mattress is a year old. You have plenty of viewpoints from your room. You never took advantage of. We were there to take care of all your needs. We are an Inn. The rooms get cleaned upon request for longer stays. We helped you with your luggage and was very friendly. I understand if you were expecting something different but there was no need to go in detail and talk poorly about my business and management. The AC unit is a year old. The hangers are new. Does it make you feel better to give a Poor review. Everyone loves Tavern on the Bay but sometimes you can’t please everyone. Have a great life.
