Stay away!

I booked this place in JANUARY, I get to the hotel Friday and they can’t find me in their system, tell me they don’t use hotels.com. Haven’t used hotels.com for a while. Their boss said sorry we don’t have anything for you. Luckily it was a pay at the property deal and they didn’t get any money from us. Luckily we went down the street and found a room, attendant told us to be glad we didn’t stay there cause the place is bad news……..

Nasty Place

This was probably the worst room I have ever booked. It was so terrible that I left and didn’t stay there. First, the condition on the outside was scary. There was water leaking everywhere, trash in the parking lot and numerous stray cats wandering around. Terrible parking. Only 1 way in and out. Inside was terrible: reeked of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking; roaches ran across the table; a board was rotting next to the shower. To add to it, a bay was constantly crying next door and the walls are super thin. Lastly, I tried to get my money back but they said it was unrefundable because I booked online. I argued and finally got half back. Oh, the price was outrageous to begin with. I will never set foot anywhere near the place again.

I am very sorry to hear of your experience. The half refund was given as it was 11:15 PM, 7 hours after your check in. I would have gladly given you a full refund if any issues were raised earlier. The price was still the cheapest room in town available online by almost half. I do apologize for the baseboard and it has been replaced. Thank you for letting us know. I also have spoken with our front desk staff, as having an online reservation does not affect refund status. That was a miscommunication on our part. I also apologize for the A/C unit condensation. Summer is almost over!!

Room was clean / 1960's style....i was happy to get a room as Athens was completely filled that weekend and the office staff was very polite and nice.

I think there is an effort underway to improve and spruce up the inn. My room was very adequate although it could have used new sheets, blanket and bed spread and the curtain was hanging down on one end and did not cover the window completely. I was concerned when I checked in that the property might be used by hourly renters. There was a sign in the small lobby saying you had to file any complaints about your room within fifteen minutes. I could not get on line although they had signs posted about the password. I put in a call for a wake up call at 730, and I got a call at 630 with someone telling me that they had seen I requested a wakeup call but no one had written down the time. That was particularly unfortunate. I got to sleep at 12:15 but at 4:15 the people in the next room began to make a lot of noise, talking loudly, banging on the headboard at one point, and going in and out of the room banging the door each time. I finally got back to sleep around 530 and then had that most unwelcome wakeup call at 630. At that point I gave up, packed up and got on the road home. I had hoped to see old friends in Atlanta for brunch, but with an eight hour drive ahead of me even if I didn't go to Atlanta, I canceled the Atlanta plan and headed home, stopping to nap along the way - truly exhausted.

Room 208 had roaches The sheets and towels were smelling like it wasn't clean No hot water It was the worst, I couldn't even stay, had to disperse outa there

I am very disappointed to hear of this experience. We certainly go through laundry supplies quickly so I will look into that aspect of your review. We have professionals come out monthly to spray so I will also see what can be done differently. I have not heard of any issues with hot water but will be having that room checked this morning. Again, I am sorry to hear of this experience and I want you to know that it will be addressed.

The office staff was friendly and courteous Room was clean, towels could have been much better. Bad thing is that there iwas too much noise during the night. People making noise in the parking lot and dogs barking. The walls are also so thin that if someone is talking very loud in the toom next door you can hear their conversatuon. Slept very little because of the noise.

It was a cold nite and the heater worked great. The bathtub had no stopper for a bath but maint. man did bring a xtra wash cloth to help with. Towels were mighty small and the bed needed replacing. The $80 for the room total was a bit much i think. Night and day check in employees were friendly.

The Budget Host inn Athens is a bad place to stay overall. The heater was so loud, we turned it off on a cold night. There were no blankets for the bed.....
