You need to know before you book this place
Posted 14 Mar 2023 on HotelsIf you want to get back to nature - stay within 5 meters of the Nile - then yes it's great - but there are NO frills - no AC - there's basic sanitation - it's on an island - it's mosquito heaven - host is friendly but charges for everything - including water - make sure you know where you are going and have active phone service because taxi driver's - guys in the ferry did not know where I was looking for - I did not have local SIM card though

The owner was really helpful and the area was interesting. However, I hadn’t realized that it was a bit of a walk from the nearest available transportation (including car), which was difficult for my mother to manage.

This was a B&B. The house was owned by an older man, but was run by two brothers, one in Cairo, Hamid on site. They sent an email for me to confirm my arrival; by that time I was already in Egypt and was having problems with my devices. When I arrived on the island, there were no streets and no signs; some local lads led us to the house. There is one room en suite, but three not (we were in the latter); leaving 7 to use 1 bathroom. The hot water in the shower did not work, although that in the sink did. When I pointed this out, Hamid was apologetic and promised to have it fixed, but we left the next morning. Hamid was very accommodating and easy to talk to, and the site was beautiful, but the ad on Expedia was poorly worded as to location and actual facilities. Our expectations were more than what was there. I would stay there again if I could get the en suite room.

thank you for your review and about the signs and the streets that's not important for us as the whole island knows each others and that's how we live in aswan , about the hot water it's there now and all is ok . the rooms which is not en suite that's mentioned for all . but you are more than welcome to come back and see some future good changes . you always welcome to our place and enjoy your time in Aswan.

Pour une vue imprenable sur le Nil

Mais on a été déçu par le fait que notre hôte ait oublié d'envoyer notre navette à l'aéroport. Bon finalement on a payé moins cher notre taxi en nous débrouillant. D'autre part on avait réservé une chambre triple, or on a eu une chambre double (pas grave) mais payée au prix de la chambre triple (en soi rien de grave mais décevant sur le principe)
Les prestations de transport (balade sur le Nil et sur les autres îles) proposées par le fils de notre hôte étaient sans surprise également plus chères. On a donc préféré gérer cela de notre côté.
Les prix des repas étaient corrects. Rien à dire. Malheureusement les repas, certes copieux et parfois très savoureux (mention speciale au poisson braisé) , n'étaient jamais assez chauds.
Ce sont les fils de notre hôte qui géraient la guest house. Ils étaient polis et courtois.
