We’ve stayed 3 or 4 times at Excelsior, and, as last visit, had a wonderful time.
The setting is amazing, Kirstin who runs it is lovely, very efficient and an amazing cook! James who is maitre d’, is also very personable and helpful. Both of them make sure your stay is top class.
There’s a golf buggy you can use to look round the vineyard. The wine is very good indeed, and guests get to drink it free, whether lounging round the beautiful pool or enjoying one of Kirstin’s wonderful dinners.
We will go back and would definitely recommend it.

Posted 7 Mar 2019 on HotelsAmazing. Kirsten and James really looked after us. Dinner on both nights was delicious and the wine tasted like More!!!!. Tessa is great company on the buggy touring the wine farm. Enjoyed watching the grape harvesting on our walks.
Will be back

Stunning wine farm, pool and views.
Posted 1 Mar 2018
Pros: Wine farm, history, pool, food, altogether a relaxing experience.
Cons: The wi-if. It was quiet irritating as it kept going off and we had to ask several times for it to be put back on. No bin at the side of the tea tray.
Location: Stunning location, fab wine farms close by. Close to Robertson.
Had a fab 2 night stay at this beautiful wine farm. Dinner was very good with as much wine as you liked included. The pool is big with beautiful views of vines and mountains. Had a couple of walks in the mornings accompanied by the farms sheep dogs which was great. Very relaxing stay, lots of wine farms close by, short drive in to Robertson, great food also at GRAZE right next to the farm dam.
The bedroom was small but we did have our own small sitting room as well and also a lovely stoop outside with further sofa’s to relax on.
Really good breakfast, pastries, fruits, cold meat and cheese etc also a cooked breafast to order.

Hallo Marnie,
Thank you so much in taking the time to review your stay here! We greatly appreciate it!
I am so glad to hear that you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the breakfast, lunch and dinner we had to offer!
I am sorry about the internet - we did go through a rocky few weeks of having poor signal and admit the only way to get it going again was to reset it entirely. It seems like that is all sorted now!
I hope that we get to welcome you back one day!
With kindest regards,
Kirstin

A bit of a disappointment
Posted 13 Feb 2017 on HotelsThe evening meal was really good and the hotel grounds were nicely kept but otherwise this hotel was a bit of a disappointment. Nobody seemed to be managing it. We would have liked to relax by the pool, but with just 12 recliners for 18 guests that was not possible. Air con in the room was ineffective. Breakfast service was under-manned, uncleared tables, and flies feasting on the cold buffet.

A real gem, would stay longer next time
Posted 28 Feb 2016 on HotelsVery welcoming, lovely room nice deli for lunch and free wine tasting . Biggest pool we've seen on our travels and very nice pool area but still not huge. Not much choice for dinner but it was beautifully cooked and one of The best meals we had all holiday,( and free wine from the estate).
