We love Rio Del Mar for its quietness, even though it’s walking distance to beautiful big beaches & the cement ship.

1) I had to wait 15 minutes in the lobby to check in. No one was on property.
2) I had to leave a $100 credit card for "incidentals" when there was nothing in the room or the property to be consumed

I was in the area for a class. The hotel was very clean and felt safe. Parking was easy. The room and bed were quite comfortable and the staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful.

We loved everything about the room, area, and property. They have a beautiful outdoor smoking area, with pretty plants and a fountain. (I don’t smoke, but my friend does). Our only complaint is they don’t have air conditioning. I know people tend to think you don’t need it when you’re by the beach, but the room was very warm and stuffy in the afternoon, and through the night. That might not bother most people, but it’s a big deal to me. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place to stay.
