My entire trip consisted of 3 weeks in Thailand with 3 nights being spent in Aonang at the Mountain View resort and of all my bookings, this one was the worst. We checked in a bit late as we flew in from Chiang Mai and as soon as i stepped in the room i wanted to walk out. I will note that the check in girl was very kind and this wasn't her fault, the language barrier was a bit challenging though.
Our first room #503 was covered in hair and dust and I'm not exaggerating - there were clumps of hair in the bathroom, on the bed, in the corners and in the hallways. The "kitchen" looked like it hadn't been wiped down in months and consisted of a couple plates, forks and cups.
When we asked to change rooms they said the hotel was fully booked and when i was adamant, they "found" a room.
Our 2nd room #203, was more or less the same. Filthy and as an added plus, it smelled so strongly of sewage i quickly declined this one. They should really get a new cleaner....
Our 3rd room #103, i think the checkin girl must have gone in to clean the room as we waited at the front desk for a solid 15 minutes. When we checked it over, it was acceptable enough but they said we would have to change rooms the next day. I was so exhausted i said we'll deal with it tomorrow. What a mistake, the sheets smelled like they hadnt been laundered. I slept in my clothes and didnt use the pillows or blanket.
The next day we checked into a new hotel down the street.

Affordable, 20 minute walk to beach, quiet. Minimal English-speaking but very pleasant staff.

Excellent place!

Relaxing stay
Posted 23 Sep 2017 on HotelsWe stayed 5 days and it was very relaxing. Staff was very sweet and you just needed to ask if you need anything.
Location is a little bit of a walk to the main area . It is a nice walk and Hotel also has a shuttle a few times per day. However still if you do not like to walk this may not be for you.
The room is more like an apartment. HUGE ! WE had more than what we needed and views from 4th floor were great.I would stay here again. However we were there in low season so it was quiet and relaxing !
