Breakfast is light, stairs are quite steep and the radiator will tick and trickle fairly continuously when on, so do without it from bedtime when possible. "This is typical of the edge of town lodge accommodation found throughout France. Access was difficult as reception was unmanned when I arrived and I did not have the code. Had to use the help point.
