Voyager Inn is a SCAM!
Posted 3 Aug 2021 on HotelsWhen we arrived late at night after a long flight we were met at the door by a man that told us the hotel was closed for renovations. What a shock to find out you don't have a hotel rooom in the middle of high season.
He said someone should have called us to let us know. We did not get that call. He said we could go across the street to the Captain Hook Hotel for a room, which is owned by the same owner. We went there and they offered us a room for a higher rate than I had booked at the Voyager Inn. What a scam! Avoid the Voyager Inn at all costs!

When we arrived atbthe hotel we were yold that the hotel closed 5 weeks ago. We never received a notice or refund. They asked if we booked through Expedia andcI said yes, he told us that Expedia never contacted these bookings and tjey had people coming in upset. We finally found one hotel room available at Motel 6 for $205. Totally unacceptable!

Booked several months ahead through Expedia. Got confirmation emails along the way, even as close to our stay as 3 days before. Got off the plane and got to the hotel at 10:30pm to check in (2:30am our time from the east coast, so we were completely exhausted), just to find that the hotel was closed! Closed, and no one from Expedia or from the hotel bothered to contact me. As it turned out, the entire city of Anchorage, including up to and hour away, was booked solid. So after a loooong day of traveling, we had absolutely no where to stay. Don't book this hotel, and like I plan to do, don't book through Expedia ever again.

Booked this hotel quite some time ago. Arrived at the property and was told by some guys outside that the hotel has been closed over a year and that out reservation was now at their sister property, Captain Cook Hotel and that we had rooms over there. Went over to Captain Cook and was told that we can stay with them, but that my pre-paid reservation would not be honored and I would have to call Expedia and get a refund. If this is a sister property, they should have honored the reservation and not charge us an additonal amount. This has been the worst experience. The Captain Cook front desk employees were less than helpful amd required us to nook directly with them. I had to spend over an hour on hold with Expedia while on vacation to straighten out the situation.

Voyager hotel closed for a month when we arrived!!
Posted 19 Jul 2021 on HotelsI booked the Voyager on Hotels.com and on arrival found the property had been closed for over a month. Hotels provided no advance warning so my party of 4 had to scramble to find a room in a fully booked town. Was lucky and able to find something but it cost me an extra $600 for 2 nights. Hotels.com did nothing for me after more than an hour on the phone.

The hotel was closed and no one ever contacted us! We arrived in Anchorage and called for a shuttle only to find out we were left without any accommodation! Imagine, the high season in Alaska and no place to sleep that night. I would avoid this place like the plague. They should had made sure to reach out to every person staying with them.
